The next pics are of the Jager battalions, some in winter and some in summer uniforms. My picture taking skills deserted me for these so sorry for the poor quality.
This blog exists for two reasons (1) Like most wargamers I have a pile of figures I have never painted, never used and that may never see the light of day. This should help me pull my finger out to get them done (2) I take commissions and I can show people what I paint, and hopefully people will like what they see here...

Russians Sir, fazands of them.....
Not quite thousands but still, quite a large pile. Line units with the flags added, GMB flags really are just great. All the figures are Elite miniatures.

And a few close ups.
Next up will be a bundle of Ulans.

28mm Napoleonic Brits
So I have again been a busy little bee painting but not much blogging. Here are the latest finished figures.
The figures are all Front Rank, the flag GMB, the standard pole are steel wire. And yes the grenadier are on the right hand side, the light company on the left. And yes the kings colour on the right and the regimental colour on the left.
Hope you like them, I enjoyed painting these.

Some more 28mm Napoleonic Russians
And very nice they look to. These were painted and based by me and the flags added by the chap who ordered them. They are three different Grenadier regiments.
They are elite miniatures and the flags are by GMB, which are just great they really are.
I know it has been an awfully long time since I have updated but family troubles just get in the way.

One 28mm Dark Age Hero
A very quick post, those miniatures that have been half complete are now all complete and I am putting them on ebay. I am never going to use them (well probably but I will just have to get some more.....)
The hero, I tried bit of free hand on the shield and it looks ok.

28mm Dark Age Saxons
So as well as painting figures I really should be painting for people (I am beavering away through some Napoleonic AB), I have been finishing off figures that have been half finished for goodness knows how long.

10mm Gauls for Hail Ceasar
And here is a slow burning project that I have been going away and coming back to it for months. The cunning plan is to create a Gallic army, Carthaginian, Republican Roman and Spanish to start with. All of the standard units will be four bases each 4cm x 4cm. Any small units will be 3 bases strong, which is most of the skirmishers.
And to start some of the skirmishers. All of the figures are Pendraken or Adler 10mm (which are brilliant). A unit of slingers first.
Skirmishers with javelins.
A few pictures of the warband, there are varying numbers of figures on each base.
And finally the warband in the really useful box. I only intend to do another 11 bases of foot, and then a few units of cavalry.
The top layer.
This project is slowly coming together, I am doing the Gauls first as I knew the shields would drive me barmy.

Blogging again falls to the bottom of the heap.
Well I have managed to fail AGAIN on the blogging front. I have been painting and wargaming and taking pictures then not putting them onto the interweb.
So there will be a few updates over the next week or two as I finally update this blog.
First up some figures I have had part done for months, 28mm Gripping beast Byzantine foot. As with so many wargamers and modelers this was a total magpie moment, saw them went "shiny stuff", started these and then got dragged onto painting something different. Chaps with spears were a nice change to the buckets of Napoleonic's I had been painting before.
The shield have little big man transfers attached and I would recommend them to anyone. I replaced the spears provided with steel (why do they bother with lead bendy nonsense anymore?).
If ever the day comes when I have the space to store 28mm armies I might try and get a load of these.

Finally finished some more figures
Woo who, I have finished figures and post them on my blog. The 12th light dragoons, Front rank and really, really lovely.
And a brigade commander painted as John Vandeleur (I think that's the spelling) along with trumpeter and officer. Obviously not based but still look pretty good.
Cheers
